Hey Vertical Officials - just a heads-up about a significant NCAA rule change for the vertical jumps for 2009. When breaking a tie for first place using a jump-off, the jump-off will begin at the next, scheduled height ABOVE the height at which the tie occurs. After that bar, we revert to the former procedure for either raising or lowering the bar.

New NCAA books will be available in November, however, you may view a PDF on the NCAA website -ncaa.org - using the publications link and select the Track & Field rules.

Many more changes this year, but this is MAJOR. Improved wording about when "five alive" is to be used, jumps by an excused competitor upon return, etc.
